3 Up 3 Down: Game 3

The Wahoos finished up their series with the Mariners losing two of the three games, but before we move onto the Angels, here’s 3 Ups and 3 Downs from last night’s game.

Trevor Bauer can’t ever seem to be great. He only went 5 innings and gave up 2 runs, striking out 7 batters in the process. Bauer’s new pitch looked really solid, giving batters a tough time watching it come out of his hand; however, there’s always one problem lingering over Trevor at all times…. He’s a lunatic! Bauer had at least 5 counts where he was at least 0-2 on a batter, then he managed to make a full count. He walked 3 batters and had 4, 20 plus pitch innings. Bauer HAS to work on his pitch count. BE AGGRESSIVE FOR ONCE!

The big bats in the order have been looking great. Yonder Alonso had another 2 hits and Edwin Encarnacion had two MONSTER home runs, only one problem: nobody was on base for them! Francisco Lindor finally hit his first single of the year (small victories) and Jose Ramirez finished the series without getting a single hit. Not a great start to the year.

My next complaint goes to Tito Francona. Why can’t you use the bullpen like a normal coach? Dan Otero had a great inning of work, so why did he need to go out for more? Otero struggles after an inning of work, so why would you keep him in? Just doesn’t make sense.

The last positive goes to Bradley Zimmer. Zimmer managed to get his first RBI since breaking his hand, glad to see him get going.

This was a tough series with the Mariners.Every game was decided by a run, so a couple big wins in Anaheim would be a very nice way to create a division lead early in the season.

Next Game: 4/2 vs LA Angels. Mike Clevinger (0-0) vs JC Ramirez (0-0)

Indians Record: 1-2

As Always, GO TRIBE
